Rev II and other Indoor Rev Mods
Since several years Revolution Kites do have a very basic patent on quad line kites in the USA and some other countries. This makes the evolution of quad line kites very difficult in compare to the dual line development of the last 15 years.
There is in Europe or at least in Germany no rule or patent which speaks against building (privately) a quad line kites similar to the basic Revolution concept. A 1:1 copy of a kite would be legally allowed but it is ethically absolutely dubious in my eyes, because the manufacturer of the kite does have the huge development costs to make a kite flying perfect and to get it durable and needs to sell the kites to survive and make new designs for the future.
However Revolution Kite does not have a working alternative in the indoor scene in its portfolio. The original Revolution Indoor Kite is very old school and does not reflect the needs of a modern indoor kite. So thats why I was active in the topic. Of course you won’t find a complete build plan on the web site, but hints how to make a nice and functional quad line kite for indoor usage.
I informed Revolution Kites of these Concept and offer them to hand them over free of charge. Even though the good contacts in the past, Rev Kites does not responds to that offer.
